I have added this "PixelYourSite" plugin for the Facebook pixel tracking, bu have not updated any other plugins. As you see some of the plugins are in the state of need for update. I usually do updates when a certain milestone of editing is reached and site is working fine.

Thanks for the information. Ok I'm consulting with our devs because it's likely there's a wrong entry somewhere in the DB and I want to try to figure out which one is it so we can have this fixed once and for all 🙂

I'll let you know as soon as I have more info on the matter.

Maybe this one also help to trobleshoot the issue. When I am logged i, viewing site from a user with the "default language" site view, in some places appears the russian terms. But as soon as I view the same place from the outside (i.e. logged out), all the strings appear correctly translated

Thanks for the head's up. the issue happens mainly with WordPress (default) and Woocommerce domains and we're trying to spot the reason why. I'll let you know as soon as we find anything up about this 🙂

Hi,
Hope you are doing well. The issue with the Russian text appearance on our site still persist.
But now is a new issue. I have three times re-created all our privacy policy pages, but your plug-in keeps deleting them and leaving only the Latvian version in all languages. Please, kindly, look at what could be the issue.
Otherwise, our payment gateway providers are complaining that we are not providing privacy policy terms in other languages, especially in English for European Union members.
Thank you in advance!

Hello there.

This issue is entirely different from the others we had tackled.

Can you please edit the translated versions of the terms and conditions and see if you have a "blue box" section under "Languages" (where you usually click to translate the page to other languages).

If you do, then please click "Translate Independently", the only button on that section because it seems that page is duplicated instead of being translated, so as soon as any change happens on the original language of the page, it re-syncs the translated versions to show the same content as the original version.

Let me know how it goes.

Can you, please, send me a screenshot in which place I should look for that blue box. Thanks

And from where should I do that translation of the terms and conditions page? Because before I sellected pages with the upper language switch in different languages and then in the Elementor pasted text from the translated word documents. As you see from the previous attachment, this would be the place I would translate the english version of the Privacy policy by going from there to edit that page in the Elementor.

Hello,

You can check this video out, it might be useful in this case: hidden link

As per the "how", i'd strongly recommend you use our translation editor, it makes things easier in the long run: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks, your first suggested option worked well.
Such a simple thing, but without your expert knowledge I would not figure this out,
Thanks again.
But the previous problem of the Russian text appearance on our site here and there still persist. I hope you are trying to fix this on your end.
Best regards,
Janis

Hm, you're right, i saw that the strings we have fixed more or less remain as such but I installed a new plugin to test something and I saw that the content is mixed between Russian and Latvian.

This tells me there are references to russian somewhere in the site, I just haven't been able to find where. I'm asking our devs for help to see if they can successfully identify where the problem lies and how we can fix it.

I'll keep you informed.

I think we found the problem.

All the issues stem from the fact that the site was once russian. when that happened many files from WordPress and Other plugins (the ones that contains the translations) left russian as the laguage but renamed the file to latvian.

Many were translated and they were correctly translated into all the languages, some were left as russian, though and in that case that's what you were seeing.

the problem is that with updates, the content was still russian and got updated by a plugin or WordPress and by updating the content (which is ok and expected), the content returned to English.

In order to fix this we needed to delete all the strings and start from scratch, this time making sure the files were indeed in Latvian.

I did that for you (it took a few hours to delete everything correctly) and the problem should be gone.

I tried to translate many of the content but couldn't finish everything. most of the content left doesn't seem to really require a translation so please check the front-end for missing content (it should appear in English this time, which is expected) and then try to find it in WPML > String Translation.

Regards,

Thanks Alejandro, sounds like you did a heavy lifting for us.
I will ask our team to go through all the content and try to search for any Russian/English words remaining. If any phrases will appear in English, that is not a big deal, and we will try to find them in string translation.
Thank you once again, hopefully we have resolved the issue for good.
Best regards,
Jānis

Yeah, to be honest what I did was a bit "radical" but I only did so because there were many strings and they were like that because of past actions. taking them one by one would've been better but it could've taken a long time and I saw that in the end what I did would've been less time consuming.

However there's a backup of the old files in your site, you'll find a "languages- original" folder with everything that existed before in the WP-CONTENT directory but I don't think you'll need it 🙂

Let me know how things go.
