This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to connect to the automatic translation service, and they noticed untranslated pages even though auto translation was enabled and they had sufficient credits. They also encountered an error which suggested a connection issue with the automatic translation service.

Solution:
We identified that the issue occurred when the 'WP External Links' plugin was activated on the client's site. We provided a workaround based on a similar ticket: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/there-is-a-problem-connecting-to-automatic-translation-19/#post-15187399.

Additionally, we have created documentation for a similar issue which can be found here: https://wpml.org/errata/wp-external-links-plugin-prevents-the-translation-tools-tab-from-loading/.

Please note that the solution provided might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. If the issue persists, we highly recommend checking related known issues (https://wpml.org/known-issues/), verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket with us.

Hi Long I attempted that and it just took me through a loop and I was never able to get it to work.
I ended up unregistering both sites and deleting them from WPML, then adding it back. That appears to have fixed the issue.
However there are pages that are untranslated and with auto translation turned on (image 284), they are not processing. I have plenty of credits assigned and have tried a few ways to get it to translate, but it does not work(image 282 & 283).
I do see one error (image 281). I don't know why I can't connect to automatic translation, but if that can be corrected, maybe things will work?
Please let me know what other steps I can take to resolve this.

Thanks

Hi,

Here is the new ticket. I suggest you follow steps below and see if it helps:

1. Go to WPML > Settings:
- Translation Mode: Translate What You Choose
- Translation Editor > Editor for new translations: Classic Editor > Save changes and reload the page.
- Switch back to Advanced Translation Editor and Translate Everything mode.

2. Register your site with a new sitekey and repeat step 1.

If it does not help, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. Your next reply is set to private to share the info.

❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌
You can use this plugin to create the backup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi,

I got the issue. It occurs when you activate the plugin WP External Links on your site. I follow the workaround in the the ticket below to fix the issue
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/there-is-a-problem-connecting-to-automatic-translation-19/#post-15187399

The plugin "WP External Links" is not available in our list of compatible plugins https://wpml.org/plugin/
So I suggest you contact the plugin author and ask them to join our Go Global program where our Compatibility developers will help them to make their product compatible with WPML.

Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks

thank you long, I will look into that plugin.
The link to that forum topic is private so I can't see it. Is there any chance you can post the contents here (removing any private info) so I can read it?

Thanks so much!
