This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was experiencing issues with automatically translating entire pages and specific custom-coded content on their website using WPML, similar to their previous experience with the gtranslate plugin. They were particularly concerned about the main page and category pages not being translated in English and German, despite being okay in Polish.

Solution:
We advised the client to ensure they had used the Automatic Translation feature correctly, as it should automatically translate all content that WPML can detect. For content that WPML does not automatically translate, such as custom-coded sections or taxonomies, the client needs to:
1. Ensure that any custom code is properly registered with WPML. For guidance on this, see Translating the Theme You Created.
2. Set themselves up as a translation manager or translator with access to all language pairs under WPML->Translation Management-> Translators. More details can be found here: Setting Up Translators.
3. For translating taxonomies automatically, follow the steps outlined in Translating Post Categories and Custom Taxonomies.

If these steps do not resolve the issue or if the solution seems outdated or irrelevant to your specific case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I wanted to translate the entire page automatically, just like I did with the gtranslate plugin. But in WPML I have to do a lot manually. I would like to manually correct translations only, and not create them entirely.

Symptoms:
I have a problem with automatic translation of the entire page.

Questions:
Why do I have to do a lot manually in WPML?
How can I translate the entire page automatically in WPML like I did with the gtranslate plugin?

Hi there.

Before this ticket gets assigned to one of my colleagues, I will try to help.

I am not sure if you used the Automatic Translation - from what I understand, you used the automatic translation feature, and that should automatically translate all the content that WPML is able to see in the page.

Here is some helpful documentation about this feature:
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/

If WPML can't see those that is why the yare not getting translated.

Can you please share the exact example that you are experiencing?

1. What type of content are you trying to translate? Can you share a URL example?

2. What content is not automatically translated? Which part of those pages? Can you attach a screenshot showing us those parts of content that you need to translate manually?

3. Can you please let us know the exact process/steps that you are following?

Please let us know.

Hi there,

When I visit your site I can see that the homepage is translated to English, however, under the sections for example "Countries without electronic vignettes"

it is empty.

How is that content pulled in the homepage for the default language?

In the default language if I click on "Albania" I am taken to this page:
hidden link

Are you using a third-party plugin to create this page?

This code is written directly in html and not in wordpress editors. This is not added via a plugin. That's why it's strange that WPML doesn't see it, and GTRANSLATE translated it without a problem.

Hello,

Google Translate works in a very different way than WPML, WPML provides full control of the translation process and works directly on your site's database along with storing your translations.

--------

If you are using custom code, this code must be registered properly.

Please review the following documentation on how to do this:

https://wpml.org/documentation/support/translating-the-theme-you-created/

1. According to the instructions, it is not entirely true - these translation files are not generated, but I think it is not important ?

2. Is it ok if it detects these phrases here and if so, how can it be translated automatically? Because currently I can only do it manually. Look at the picture: (image-1)? and on your website it says that it can be sent from an automatic translation machine. How? You see my screen, i havent that option. https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatically-translate-strings-with-wpml/#translate-everything-automatically

3.
In image image-2, I present the product categories that I have to translate manually because the system does not detect them, and these are my additional fields that I added in the descriptions to create the website: opis2 , wini_left_desc , wini_before_desc , wini_after_desc. Why?

Can you give access to your store to a technician who will assess it?

You can send strings to automatic translation as shown in our documentation.

Please go to WPML->Translation Management-> Translators and verify you are added as a translation manager or a translator with access to all language pairs.
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/#setting-up-translators

Regarding the taxonomies, there is a workaround to achieve this automatically otherwise we recommend doing it manually
