This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to translate certain English content into Swedish on their website using the Triply theme & BA Book Everything plugin, even after installing the WPML plugin.

Solution:
1. We recommended checking the 'Look for strings while pages are rendered' option in WPML > String Translation, then visiting the page with the untranslated string and searching for it again in String Translation.

2. If the string was not found, it might be an admin text. We provided instructions on how to find and translate admin text strings: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/

3. We requested URLs and screenshots of the pages where parts were not getting translated, and temporary access to the site to better understand the issue.

4. We emphasized the importance of creating a full website backup before providing access for safety reasons.

5. Upon reviewing the site, we noticed that Swedish content was created within the English language backend, which likely caused confusion for WPML. We advised that Swedish content should be created from the Swedish backend and English content from the English backend.

6. We mentioned that the theme might have custom Elementor blocks that WPML cannot detect by default, which should be checked after ensuring content is created in the correct language backend.

hidden link this is my website using Triply theme & BA Book Everything. But I can't change few English contents into Sweedish language & that is why I purchased the WPML plug in. But when I install it its the same, Changing nothing, can you please tell me how to change contents of those sections?

Hi there.

The proper way to translate strings depends a lot on how they have been implemented inside the theme/plugin.

Sometimes, there are even duplicates of the same string and only one of them is the correct one that needs to be translated.

Also, sometimes, simply removing the string (checking the box and removing it) and then re-registering it again by scanning for it (one of the methods below) and re-translating it resolves the issue.

From my understanding, you are trying to translate specific parts/strings that you can't find.

1. Please try this:

Go to WPML > String Translation and at the bottom of the page you will find a checkbox called "Look for strings while pages are rendered". You can enable (check) that and then go to the front end to a page where you have that string showing up and then go back to WPML > String Translation and search for that string and see if it now shows up.

2. If you can't find them inside the WPML > String Translation, they might be added as admin text.

This should be the normal process to find and translate admin text strings:

1. I would need you to please show me the URLs of the pages where the parts are not getting translated - also, please point out in a screenshot or list for me the exact parts of the content that you would like to translate.

2. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

One question:
Is there any risk that information will get lost when you check out the site? I am asking due to last time the freelancer we used and followed your steps we lost a lot of blocks and information.

No, no info should be lost but, as I mentioned above, make sure that, before sharing the credentials and all the info I requested at both points 1 and 2, make sure that you first create a full website backup, just for safety reasons.

This way, you avoid all the risks of losing something.
