This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
I have added the WPML to the website but some of the pages are in German and Spanish language content automatically changes in English

Solution:
I checked all the pages and some are correct and some wrong:

http://***.co/testing/2023/veraut/vuswm-ultrasonic-water-heat-meters/
-> Still a duplicate. You can use the "Translate independently" button as before to switch it to a translation.

http://***.co/testing/2023/veraut/am-com-traffic-light-green/
-> ES is a duplicate. Use "Translate independently" too

http://***.co/testing/2023/veraut/mobile-silo-silo-content-measurement/
-> Both languages are a duplicate. Also, use here the "Translate independently" button.

Hi,

that's expected. You created duplicates and not translations. All content will be overwritten from the English default language. You used this option: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/#how-to-duplicate-posts-and-pages-using-the-page-editor.

To unsync the duplication from English, press the "Translate independently" button on the secondary language pages. Then, it will be handled as a translation :).

Best Regards
Marcel

Hi,

as mentioned, your pages were created as duplicates, not translations. I added a screenshot where you can see it. To solve it, please follow the exact steps mentioned in the doc above.

#1 Open hidden link

#2 Click on the pencil icon for "German" and "ES".

#3 Press the "Translate independently button, so the changes from EN will not be synced to your secondary languages anymore.

Marcel

Hi,

I noticed this earlier today, this code is part of your default language when you open Elementor and not related to WPML. It's either coming from an Elementor template or an issue (like broken JS) in your theme. You can see it here in English as well: hidden link, when you open the page via Elementor.

So, as it's already wrong on your default language, it's copied to your secondary languages. If you can't find it, you might need to get in touch with Elementor or Astra support.

Marcel

Sure! Please let me know if you need further help once you fixed that page in the default language. Once you switch the duplicate to a translation, you can translate it, so it will not revert to the default language.

Sure! Please note that you should make no changes on the secondary languages, so long the WPML editor is active. If you want to edit directly via Elementor, you must turn the WPML editor off. All edits for German and Spanish should be made via the Translation Editor: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/#how-to-use-manual-translation.
