Kor,
The issue is not resolved. See my comment from my previous message:
It looks like now I can't access any French pages using hidden link. When I am on a English page and click the language switcher link to view the French page, the English page is loaded again.
No French pages are loading at all now. Any requests to hidden link take you to the English domain.
I contacted you first regarding what the host did before replying and letting them know what happened after they made that change. But now we are no further ahead.
Is there someone else at WPML that can assist with this? We have been going in circles for two weeks and have not resolved anything.
Thanks for getting back to me. It seems the adjustments your hosting provider implemented simply redirect the French page to the English one.
As I mentioned earlier, the problem persists even after deactivating the WPML plugin, indicating that this issue isn't directly caused by WPML. I'm assisting voluntarily here.
Could you please request your hosting provider to undo these changes? Once reverted, we can re-evaluate the situation. If it turns out to be related to WPML, I'll escalate accordingly.
Hi Kor,
WHC reverted the changes and both domains are working now/displaying content in both languages.
I sent them an overview of the steps I am following when creating a new post and set them up with admin access so they can have a closer look and create a test post. I expect they will get the same result.
Is there anything that may not be configured correctly with how we have the French domain pointed to the website? Attached is a screenshot of how both domains are set-up in cPanel. The DNS for the domains is managed in Cloudflare and both are pointing to the IP for the website (144.217.77.189).
We have another client using two separate domains for English and French everything on that website in WPML is configured the same as this website. The only difference is the French domain for that website is not in Cloudflare and it's DNS is managed with GoDaddy. Would that make any difference?
I've rechecked this for you and I'm able to view both languages without issues. Please make sure to clear your browser and Website cache since your hosting provider made changes to the .htaccess file. Example in this post in English hidden link . It works in French too hidden link .
For this post, hidden link , please translate it to French. Then, the French version of the post will show up without issues. If the issue persists after translating to French, then I will recheck this for you or escalate this.
Hi Kor, hidden link was published before the language URL settings were changed to "A different domain per language".
We only started having issues after making that change and using the separate French domain.
I was able to add a new post today that is in English and French:
hidden link

It looks like the issue is when I try to change the slug for the French post. If I leave it alone and use the same slug that was copied from the English post, things seem to work. But if I rename the slug to French, I get "The page can’t be found." when trying to view the English and French copies of the post.
How can I rename the slug for the French copy of the post so it's in French and not have this issue?
Thanks for your reply. Could you tell me the slug that you'd like to use? I'll try to translate for you and if it works, I will list the steps for you.
However, I've noticed an issue with the "redirection" plugin affecting the English page: hidden link (I’m unable to access the page). Deactivating the "redirection" plugin resolves the issue. Could you check now?
Hi Kor,
Both the English and French copies of that post work for me now as well.
I checked the test post that I created yesterday and that is displaying correctly in both languages as well.
I reactivated the Redirection plugin and when I refreshed the test post, it displayed displayed "The page can’t be found" again.
I then tried going to hidden link again and got this message:
This page isn’t working hidden link redirected you too many times.

I checked under "Tools" > "Redirection" and saw a redirect had been created today for hidden link. See the attached screenshot.
Then I checked under "Tools" > "Redirection" > "Options" and saw that "Monitor changes to posts" was enabled. I deselected that and can view the post now. Can you check on your end and see if it works for you?
Thanks for your reply. Both links work for me too. Thanks for sharing what you've configured to fix the issue.
