This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is using WPML with Elementor and needs to maintain different links for iFrames on different pages. They are facing an issue where string translations for iFrames reset every time they update a page through Elementor, even though they did not update the element the string was a part of.
Solution:
We explained that the behavior experienced is expected and unavoidable because content from pages should not be translated using String Translation. Instead, we recommended translating links directly in the Translation Editor. For guidance on how to do this, we provided a documentation link: How to translate URLs, shortcodes, and HTML attributes using the Advanced Translation Editor.

Please note that the solution provided might be irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your specific case. If the issue persists, we encourage you to open a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Tell us what you are trying to do?
We use wmpl together with elementor. We need to have different links on different pages for iFrames, which is what we use wpml string translations for.

Every time we update the page through elementor and then fix the translations through the plugin, the string translations get reset every time. Is there a way to make them persist through those changes? (We did not update the element the string was a part of)

Is there any documentation that you are following?
I could not find any example / issue on google, the only one I found was too old and closed.

Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site?

Hi,

thanks for contacting us.

What you are experiencing is expected and it cannot be avoided. Content coming from the pages should never be translated in String Translation.

However you should be able to translate links directly in the Translation Editor, see https://wpml.org/it/faq/how-to-translate-urls-shortcodes-and-html-attributes-using-the-advanced-translation-editor/
