Hello, I want to create a series of custom languages, such as Japan-Japanese, Japan-English, Korea- Korean, Korea- English, Thailand-Thai, and Thailand-English. This way, but it seems that I can only have one custom language with a language mapping of English. If more than one custom language has a language mapping of English, WPML will issue a prompt。What should I do so that different custom languages can be mapped to English? |

Hi, Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today. Please let me know if you are able to save the page after selecting the mapping language. This warning says you can't use Automatic Translation with these custom languages if you mapped them the same as your default language, but you can translate them manually. Best regards, |

I want to build an international website, like seidor.com. Please check the language switch function on his website. How can you set the default language to English like him, and the language mapping of other custom languages to English will not conflict with the default language? Is there a way to solve this problem? |

Hi, It will not conflict, but the custom languages will not be translated automatically. You will need to translate them manually. The translation engine will be unable to translate English to English because there is no difference. That's why you see this message. It's not a conflict. Also, please note that the mentioned site is a custom build, not a WordPress site, so it has a different/custom functionality. Best regards, |

Oh, I understand. Thank you for your explanation, Teacher Osama. I have another question, if I manually translate a custom language, the workload would be too heavy and exhausting. Can I set the default language to Arabic first, and then automatically translate those customized English languages from different countries. After the automatic translation is completed, I will switch the default language to English, so that the customized English languages from different countries will still be retained? Will they still work normally? |

Hi, It could be a workaround, but changing the site's default language might affect some pages/posts created in Arabic. Another workaround might be leaving the default language as it is (English) and duplicating the other custom English languages from it. Kindly check our guide about duplicating content. (https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/#duplicating-content) Best regards, |

I understand what you mean. The best solution is to default to English, and then copy and paste translations in other custom languages from English pages and posts. Right? Wpml has quick options for copying content |

Hi, Yes, you can duplicate the pages and click translate independently if you want to change anything on the translated pages. I hope this helps you. If you need further info, please let me know. Best regards, |
