Tell us what you are trying to do?
I have custom fields attached to media files. These custom fields reference taxonomies. I need a means such that whatever value I put into any of the fields in any language will sync (have exactly the same values) across all other languages, irrespective of the language I am editing in.

Is there any documentation that you are following?
Yes. See here https://wpml.org/compatibility/2023/03/acfml-2-0-easy-multilingual-setup-and-translation/

Is there a similar example that we can see?
NONE

What is the link to your site?
hidden link

Hello,

you will need to go to WPML > Settings > Custom fields /Custom Term Meta Translation, find a related custom field, and set it to COPY.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Drazen

Would I not need to first duplicate the custom fields across those languages first off? I have done that and I have set up the "COPY" but it just doesn't work as expected.

Hello There,
I hope you're doing well.

Once you enable a field group for a specific post type, the fields within that field group will be available for the posts in every language. However, I'd like to inform you that you need to put the custom field value on the default post first and then update the translation.

You can check this guide to understand the recommended translation preference for each custom Field: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/recommended-custom-fields-translation-preferences-for-acf-and-wpml/

Please let me know if the above information helped. If you need further assistance, I kindly request you capture the issue you're having in a video and share that in the next response. I will check properly and let you know the next steps.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit
