This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is attempting to translate media on their WordPress site using WPML but encounters issues because the media is not translated. The Houzez Theme used by the client is currently not marked as compatible with WPML, which complicates the translation process.
Solution:
1. To translate media elements, follow the steps in our official documentation: WPML Media Translation Guide.
2. Meta information for images (like alt and caption) will only be translated automatically if they are used on a page or post that is translated using the WPML Translation Editor. However, since the Houzez Theme is not compatible, we recommend translating this information manually within the media library or using WPML > Media Translation.
3. For images used as a background in page builders like Elementor, ensure they are part of the content to be translatable automatically. If the image is added as a style setting (e.g., background-image), it will not be translated automatically.
4. If encountering issues with theme compatibility, inform the Houzez Support about the issues between Houzez and WPML for further assistance.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

I understand your frustration, but at the moment, there is really not more I can do.

The compatilbity team marked the theme as incompatible as the author did not reach out to us anymore.

It is not our team that makes the theme compatible; it is the author.

We are not responsible for third-party code:
Our team simply suggests changes that should be made, but these are not implemented by our team. As our team recommended various changes to the author and did not get any feedback, the theme was currently marked as incompatible.

About the media issue:
This is a very common issue, as the custom page builder widget that you are using is not sending the metadata of the media to the translation editor. This is not something caused by WPML; it is simply that the widget is not handling the data in a way that WPML could use it.

To achieve this functionality, the code of the widget needs to be adapted.

Anyhow, this will only affect you if you want to translate the media with the WPML Translation Editor. You can instead use the media library or WPML > Media Translation to translate those texts.

My apologies for not being able to bring you better news, but I just had a conversation with one of our compatilbity developers who is in charge of our partnership program.

He confirmed that there has not been any contact with the author for a long time, and this is why the team decided to mark the theme as incompatible.

I am not sure the theme support informed you differently, but this must have been a misunderstanding, or maybe he is planning to reach out to us sooner.

At the moment, I can sadly no longer escalate any issues in this case and need to ask you to reach out to the Houzez Support and insist on solving the issues.

You can share our tickets with them so that they can run some tests on their own to recreate and solve the issue. If they need our help with this, they can reach out to us.

After all, our compatibility team does nothing different. We only suggest to Houzez what they should do, but they are the ones who have to make the changes.
