Hi there! I have a custom post type called 'Pers Artikelen' (Dutch for 'Press articles'). I have it set 'Translatable: use translation if available or fallback to default language'. Right now I don't have any translations for those posts, only the default language, which is Dutch. When I switch my site to the English version, those posts are supposed to show up, but they're not. What do I do?

Thanks for contacting WPML support.

Please try resaving permalinks and see if it fixes it.

If the issue persists, I would need to take a closer look at your site. So I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed

IMPORTANT: Please, note, a backup is required for security reasons, and to avoid any data loss, you can use the https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/plugin for these backup needs.

Your following answer will be private, which means only you and I have access to it.

✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme and to change configurations on the site if required. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

Sorry, we would need a site snapshot to continue with the troubleshooting. Or can we have your permission to create a snapshot on our own?

We usually recommend the free Plugin “Duplicator” for this purpose.

If you already know how Duplicator works ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/),please skip the following steps and just send me the archive file you downloaded.

If the file is too large (more than 400M), please use the Duplicator file filters to remove the cache, the wp-uploads directory, the media, and the archive files.

Send me the link to the archive file (you probably want to use Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar services, as the snapshot file will be quite big).

Your next reply will be private, which means that only you and I will be able to see it and have access to it.

You can paste the link to the file there.

Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site.

It seems to work fine when I deactivated the "Custom Post Type UI". Could you check the options to see if there is any misconfiguration that is causing the issue?

Hi Kor,

I checked and indeed, that solved the issue for that one post type. But it causes issues with all my other post types. Concerts and Artists are completely broken with Custom Post Type UI turned off.

I created all of those post types with Custom Post Type UI. All post types are behaving as expected with Custom Post Type UI turned on, except Press Articles.

No, I don't see any differences, except the use of the Editor in Press. I tried toggling it, but it didn't solve the issue. Also, this setting shouldn't affect WPML anyway.

The only real difference is within the WPML settings, which is what leads me to believe this is a WPML issue - as I've stated before. Could you please solve it?

I must say I'm not very happy with the speed of support. It's been 3 weeks! This website has to go live ASAP. We have international concerts coming up and English needs to be available now!

I apologize for the delay. It seems I've been looking in the wrong direction. The reason the posts are not displaying in the English Language here hidden link is that your primary language page is in English language as configured here hidden link

This option "'Translatable: use translation if available or fallback to default language" , it says "fallback to default language" and your default/primary language is the English Language.

I hope this clears it up and to display "fallback to default language", you can change your primary or default language to Dutch.
