This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Issue:
The client cannot see the button to save settings in the languages tab, specifically for the custom language switches and the footer language switch.
Solution:
To save the footer language switch settings, you must first click the edit button with the pencil icon. After that, a blue button will appear to save the settings.

To activate and change the custom language switch settings, you must first check the "enable" box. You will then see an additional button where you can click to view and change the settings, and then a blue save button will appear.

If the problem persists, it may be due to server-related causes or a compatibility issue between WPML and at least one of the active plugins or the active theme. Recommended:

1. Verify that the server meets the WPML minimum requirements.
2. Perform a compatibility test by disabling all plugins except WPML and switching to a default WordPress theme.

If the issue is resolved by disabling non-WPML plugins or changing the theme, then You should reactivate the plugins one by one to identify which one is causing the conflict.

It is best to perform these tests in a staging environment if possible.

I am trying to: Save settings in the languages tab

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

I expected to see: A save button to save selections or Customize button

Instead, I got: No way to save settings in Custom language switchers, Footer language switcher

Hi there.

Before this ticket gets assigned to one of my colleagues, I will try to help.

To see the "Save" for the footer language switcher, you need to click the pencil icon edit button first, so that you can see the settings, and then you will see a blue button for saving the settings.

Also, for enabling and changing the settings for the custom language switcher, you need to first click the "enable" checkbox and then, you will see an extra button (like you will see in the screenshot I attached below) where you can click, see and change the settings and then you will have a blue button to save the settings.

Please let me know how that goes.

Hi there.

This issue looks to me like it could be either caused by server-related causes or a compatibility issue between WPML and (at least) one of the active plugins or the active theme.

1. Please make sure that your server follows the WPML minimum requirements and that you are using the very latest WPML versions:
https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements

2. If the issue is still happening, can you please let me know if it still happens even when only the WPML plugins are active and you are using a default WordPress theme?

Please try the following steps so that we can test for a compatibility-related issue:

- create a full website backup

- disable all plugins except WPML and its add-ons

- check if the issue is happening again

- if it's not, reactivate your plugins one by one, checking every time if the issue shows up again so that you can understand which plugin is causing that issue

If the issue happens even with the non-WPML plugins disabled:
- leave all the non-WPML plugins deactivated

- switch to a default theme like TwentySeventeen

- try to recreate the issue now

If you have the chance, it would be best to do this in a staging (testing) environment.

Please let me know how that goes and if following any of these steps solved your issue or brought any change.

I will be waiting for your response.

Mihai
