When I set up the site, I said the principal language is in spanish and needs to be translated to english, spanish, and french.

this is true for the content on the site, but I want to wordpress dashboard to be in english for the admin and developers.

When I go to user adjustments to change the language, it is greyed out and says, "Cuando WPML esté activado, deberá cambiar el idioma del sitio en la Sección Idiomas del sitio WPML."

When I click the link, it says I do not have permission to access that page. I am logged in as admin when this happens.

What do I need to do to change the dashboard language to english for administrators and developers?

Here is a link to a screen recording

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for contacting WPML support.

The admin language is independent of the site's front-end language. This means that each user can choose a different language for their administration panel from Users > Profile > Personal Options section.

Please check here for more details: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/setting-the-wordpress-administration-language/

Kind regards,
Mohamed

Hi Mohammad. If you look at the video in the link, you will see that the option to change my site language has been greyed out since I set up wpml. When I click the link prompted by WPML it says I do not have permission to access that page, but I am logged in as the admin of the site.

Hi,

From what I understand, you just want to change the language of your WordPress dashboard. If yes, then you should change it from the user profile settings not the WordPress general settings as shown in your recording.

Please check the following recording which shows how to achieve that: hidden link

Let me know please if that helps.
