Tell us what you are trying to do?
When I change text on the english version of a page then it also changes the other language variants to english.
Here is an example:
chemometec.COM/industry/cell-based-immunotherapy/ then it automatically deletes the german text and replaces it with the english on this page: chemometec.DE/branche/zellbasierte-immuntherapie/
When this happens I assume that the whole German page is overwritten by English content and not just one text item, correct?
This can happen if the translation is synchronized with the default language.
- Go to pages and edit the page in the default language
- Use the language switcher at the top header and switch to German (dismiss the warning)
- At the top right -> do you see a message about the 2 pages being synchronized with a button to "translate independently " , this will happen when the translation was originally Duplicated and then added manually.
While in the translation in the backend, you should be able to use the WordPress feature of "rollback"/"time machine", can you roll back to the previous version of it before getting overwritten?
Once done, let me know I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)
**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **
I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.
NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.
Thank you,
Bobby
