Hi I use the avada theme. When I search for a topic or page the results always show every page or content in all languages. But I only want to show the results in the active languages. How can I do this?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the support.

In order to check the issue in detail, as discussed by Mateus in the chat, I'll need following information:

- Debug information of your website for an overview of your setup. See https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/ for more information. I've enabled the debug information section for your next reply.

- And an admin access to your site. I understand you don't have permissions, but is it possible to create a staging or dev site then stripping out any sensitive and/or customer data? Thus leaving only the problem in place, which can be reproduced by following some steps?

Or on the other hand, I can provide you a bare sandbox where you can try setting up things as yours with some dummy data and can reproduce the issue?

Please let me know.

Regards.

Thank you for providing the information, that looks fine.

If you're not able to provide the access which deems necessary to check the problem, can you try the following?

IMPORTANT: Take full backup of your website and database beforehand. It is highly advised to try the following on a staging/dev site first, so your live website isn't compromised.

- Deactivate all plugins except WPML and its addons and check for the issue.
- Activate each plugin one-by-one, while keeping check on the issue after a plugin is activated. This way you'll be able to pinpoint a plugin having a conflict (or problem), if any.
- If the problem persists, repeat the above steps with a default theme of WordPress (i.e. 2021 or 2023).
- Also check the browser's console for any JavaScript errors. If you find any, copy that in your next reply. See https://wordpress.org/support/article/using-your-browser-to-diagnose-javascript-errors/ for details on how to find these errors.

Let me know.

Since we use the standard Avada search, I don't know if deactivating all the plugins will get me closer to the solution. Am I wrong here?

Yes even then we need to investigate. Using a compatible or standard theme/plugin does not guarantee it 'll always work fine because these are always evolving (including WP system) with new features, functionality and even bugs.

The Plugin responsible for giving out search results in all languages, is the SeachWP Plugin. This is used to make the search more detailed. How can I proceed from here?

The said plugin is compatible with WPML (https://wpml.org/plugin/searchwp/) and looks like it has an integration plugin for WPML: hidden link.

Please try to use the said integration plugin and see if it fixes the problem?

Thank you for your help! The extension solved the issue and the results were only in the active language. Unfortunately, I can click the button on the left, "My Issue is resolved".
