3. I can no longer access the WPML Advanced Editor. I can see the translations are there in the admin, but the Advanced Editor buttons are missing.

Please advise. Thanks.

Hi,

I check the Translation Editor, and it seems to work correctly. (Kindly check the attached screenshot)

If it didn't work on your end, please try the following steps:

1- Go to WPML-> Support-> Troubleshooting
2- Run the functions one by one (Kindly check this hidden link)
3- Edit the page in the default language
4- Add "V2" to the title, and update the page
5- Delete the "V2" and update the page
6- Click on the "Spinning Arrows" icon to update the translation

Best regards,
Osama

Hi! So I followed the steps and am still running into a few issues, although most have been resolved.

1. No ATE from the post admin. This used to be here, right (see screenshot "No ATE")?

2. I now have duplicate Artiesten (artists) taxonomies. Eventhough I have it set to don't translate. These are names, so they'll be the same in all langages. (see screenshots "Duplicate artiesten taxonomies" & "artiesten taxonomy settings".

3. Pers artikelen (press articles) post type is behaving strangely. Look at the screenshots "Press settings", "press english & "press Dutch". I am not sure what the best way to set this up is, so let me explain what I want to achieve. We post articles and interviews from newspapers as PDFs on our website. Since our artists are internationally famous the articles come in a number of languages, but mostly Dutch and English. It will be too much work to translate all those PDFs so we'll just upload them in the original language of the article - maybe only translate the post title. How would I set that up? Right now in the front-end the PDFs are not appearing in English, for example. So there is an issue there. And should I post the English articles as English and Dutch as Dutch? Please advise.

Hi,

1) You will see a link to show and hide the translation icons when editing the post in the default language. (Kindly check this hidden link)

2) I set the taxonomy to translatable. Please check if that issue is fixed.

3) The PDFs are not working on English pages because they are not uploaded in English. Please edit the English posts and upload/attach the PDFs. (Kindly check this hidden link)

In our forum, we try to keep one issue per ticket. As the original issue is resolved, may I kindly ask you please to open a new ticket for your additional question?

Continuing with one ticket per issue helps supporters focus on one issue at once and enables other users to find solutions to their questions faster.

Thanks for your understanding

Best regards,
Osama

1. Got it! Thanks

2. Does it need to be translatable though? Those are names and will be the same in every language. However, I do have some conditional logic based on those taxonomies (using Avada). I remember it that logic not working properly unless I translated these taxonomies. They don't work at the moment either. What are your thoughts? Should conditional logic work with untranslatable taxonomies in translated pages? That would be the most elegant.

3. Ok will do.

Hi,

I think the conditional logic needs the taxonomies to be translatable, but you can test both translation preferences.

If the conditional logic didn't work correctly, please open a new ticket for this issue.

Best regards,
Osama
