As with the attribute issue, Iconic is now aware of this problem and we're working on solve both of them. They will probably take over since they are handling other issues regarding WPML. we're waiting on more info from them so we can know what to do next.
I'll update the ticket as soon as i know more about this.

It looks like Iconic will take care of this issue so watch out for any update on their end. We're still waiting on their answer since the last reply from them (last week) made us believe they didn't fully understand the problem, which we went ahead and explained to them.

I'm just letting you know that i set this ticket as public so the guys over at Iconic can check it out (They are in contact with our compatibility team and are helping get this issue solved).
Please can you set this ticket back to private as it is currently public.
So I have an extremely similar issue on one of our other sites that does not use Iconic Show Single Variations.
4 new products have been created for 1st time in ages on this site. They are actually inistallations / case studies. The english version is set to published and they was translated via translation management but when checking the translated versions are set to draft.
But as this site does not use Iconic Show Single Variations or any other Iconic plugins the issue is not related to them at all.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. we couldn't find a "workaround" to prevent these issues at least while a permanent solution is found, that's why we contacted Iconic so they can check on their end, their products and so we can hopefully come up with a permanent solution.
I'll keep you in the loop if i have any other updates.
