I have followed this support ticket https://wpml.org/forums/topic/internal-links-pointing-to-wrong-language-3/ and ran Translate Link Targets. And am currently re-running sticky link scan. I have disabled Dutch, German and Europe English to try and speed up process as we need the links sorting urgently.

Currently on the site links seems to work correctly to me.

If Translate links target worked I assume the issue is solved. If after reactivating the languages you still have issues we can investigate it, but if there are no errors we can't debug anything.

Hi Laura

The links do not go to the correct location. The ones on the big buttons do they are ACF blocks and seem unaffected currently. The text links however are all affected. Also on this page as example hidden link hidden link.

These where all correct and working a week ago. I think converting the sticky links to permalinks may have triggered it. But I was trying to resolve the issue of ACF blocks not having links translated as per other ticket.

So Translate Links Target did not work here?

How were the pages translated?

As on other ticket, Translate link targets has been run multiple times and also sticky links scan. Issue possibly caused by clicking revert to permalinks.

They was translated using translation management and automatic translations.

The most important issue right this second is that it has changed the links on the original page not translated pages. So the en-gb is the original page and these have all had there links set to nl-nl. Where they are not in ACF block and the few I have manually reverted.

I have actually now found I can restore previous version of the document and the links are restored for en-gb. As such I have started work on restoring the pages starting with the blog post link above bouncy castle buying guide, as I need to get these links corrected. I have done the en-gb version just now and I have not yet tested or checked any translations of this page yet as I presume they will need re-translating.

If the links changed only on the original language there's no need to retranslate them.

I tried to check what happened with the translation but I can't do it from our side. We'd need a test site to better investigate.

Ok but I need to work out why it happened and how to resolve. Currently I am looking at restoring the en-gb versions of the pages to previous revisions as that looks to restore the links.

To investigate the issue we need to see it first, if you're manually fixing the link the devs can't debug anything.

We'd need a copy and try to do what you did that triggered the problem in the first place. Let me know if you can create a staging site or not.

I have setup a cleaned staging site for you and am awaiting you to set so i can send details. For this and all the other issues. And there is many more. I have tried deleting WPML folders from plugin and reinstalling but issues still exist. I have ran all the troubleshooters in WPML as well.

I have a staging copy I created yesterday before restoring all the previous revisions. So you can still investigate on there.

Do you have an example of links pointing to Dutch on the staging site?

I visited the page you mentioned before (hidden link) and the links here, while incorrect, are not pointing to Dutch.

Is this from before you enabled Sticky Links or did you have already modified something?

Nevermind, I found one page with the wrong links while researching the ACF blocks issue.

I'm sending the issue to the 2nd tier.
