Hi Bigul,

Test.russian-socks.com is still a dev site. As soon as it’s stable though, the hidden link domain dns will be directed to this environment.
So the live environment will be this one, hopefully soon.
For now, you can look at it as a staging site and do whatever you want in it. We have a backup!

Hi Ward,

I had another round of testing at hidden link after upgrading to the latest version of plugins including WooCommerce. There is no particular slow performance or warnings related to WPML.

But there is a DB error related _aioseo_cache table. Hope you can improve performance by fixing this. This happens with and without WPML.

WordPress database error Table '****.****_aioseo_cache' doesn't exist

Please check it and let us know your feedback.

Hi Bigul,

I'm a bit surprised that you don't find anything wrong...
I clicked on "USERS" in the admin's left column and after 1,5 minutes, I get the same old 504 server error.
Then I deactivated String Translation and clicking "USERS" brings me to the users overview in 4/5 seconds.
So all is not well here!

Hi Bigul,
I just fell out of my chair!
If I login as wpml, the problem isn't there anymore!
How is this possible? I suspect you have an idea, because you asked me to login as a different admin... 🙂

Hi Ward,

Thank you for the feedback. Please try the following steps after a site backup and make sure you are getting the expected results or not.

1) Visit WPML>>Translation Management>>Translators
2) Remove the current Translator
3) Refresh the page
4) Add the user as Translator again
5) Visit Users menu of WordPress Dashboard

Happy because the problem only seems to exist with my admin account.
Sad, because I tried your above checklist with my bergmans23 account, but it makes no difference. Still long waiting time and 504...

Hi Bigul,

Uhm, I deleted that admin account yesterday, after I created a new one for myself... And I've been doing some work since i deleted it, so putting back a duplicate would erase that work.
But the "bergmans23" admin account will still be in the duplicate you guys made. Maybe you can observe in that one what's wrong with it?

Hi Bigul,
Thanks for the link.
Only problem... It's in Italian and try as I may, I can't find the final verdict about the issue.
But if I understand correctly, the memory and resources problem is due to WPML String Translation and will be fixed with an upcoming update?
Do you have any idea how an admin user account like mine can get so corrupted? I could not deduce that out of the italian ticket.

Hi Ward,

Thank you for the updates. There is a performance bug in String Translation and it will be fixed in the upcoming version of WPML.

In your case, the issue is already resolved by deleting the user. The future version of WPML and String Translation will prevent the repetition of the issue.
