[Resolved] super slow performance

Dear team of WPML,

I just purchased the 99€ yearly subscription. I really love the buildup of WPML, it is a wonderful tool to make my website multilingual. Only i really struggle with the performance: the backend work got slower almost by 10-fold, making it almost impossible to productively work. And the performance of the website itself got so slow, that I'm afraid, that people won't wait until the page loads. Do You have any solution for me to get the speed back o normal again?

I use wordpress WordPress 6.4.2
Elementor 3.16.5
WP_MEMORY_LIMIT 512M
PHP 7.4
Rest is active

While waiting for one of my colleagues to be assigned to your ticket, please review the following and let us know your results.

I can see you have the following add-on plugins activated but you do not have the parent plugins they are created for. For example, Gravity Forms multilingual is enabled but Gravity Forms is not being used.

You should be OK to deactivate them and remove them unless of course, you are using them:

WPForms Multilingual
Gravity Forms Multilingual
Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual
Contact Form 7 Multilingual
MailChimp for WordPress Multilingual
BuddyPress Multilingual

Also, you have WPML Media, this add-on you can disable unless you want to use different images across posts, pages, and post types in different languages. Otherwise, deactivating could help with performance.

The server config looks great, if possible Upgrade MySQL version to 5.6 or higher to meet minimum requirements

To ensure a fast response make sure to share with our team the performance you have with WPML deactivated and the loading time you are getting with WPML activated.

Then do the above steps and see if that helps.

Dear Bobby,

thank You so much for your mail and your great advice.

After deleting the mentioned additional plugins, the performance of both back- and front-end are back to normal.

Let me apologize upfront for my low knowledge - i smply installed the whole package, not knowing exactly which ones are necessary for my purposes.

I'm really happy, the website is multilingual and is as fast as always. Super!
