Background of the issue:
I am experiencing compatibility issues with WPML on our website hidden link. Our current setup includes WordPress Version 6.7, PHP Version 7.4, and installed WPML plugins such as WPML Multilingual CMS Version 4.6.3, WPML String Translation Version 3.2.5, Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual Version 2.0.5, and Contact Form 7 Multilingual. We migrated our website to a new server and noticed performance issues with these plugins.

Symptoms:
The site performance has significantly decreased when using the WPML plugins. The site runs much faster without them, but these plugins are essential for our business operations.

Questions:
Are there any known issues with WPML 4.6.3 on WordPress 6.7?
Are there any recommended solutions or updates we should consider to improve performance while using these plugins?
When can we expect an update that officially supports WordPress 6.7 for WPML?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us

WPML v4.6.3 is very outdated. Please create a full backup of the site and go to Plugins -> Add new -> Commercial tab -> Click on the button to look for updates and update the WPML plugins to the latest version.

Also, I recommend to upgrade the PHP version to v8 or v8.1.

Once the changes above are finished, double-check if the issue disappeared.

Regards,
Carlos

I have updated all WPML plugins to the latest version. But still the same behaviour: when the WPML CMS plugin is enabled, it uses about 6-7 GB of RAM, and that's why the website with 31 GB of RAM doesn't work anymore or gets a lost connection.

Symptoms:
The performance of the site has decreased significantly when using the WPML plugins. The site runs much faster without them, but these plugins are essential for our business operations.

Thank you for your message.

I would like to take a closer look at the site configuration. I have set your next message private so you can securely share the access credentials to the site.

Please don't forget to create a full backup of the site before sharing the credentials.

Thank you for sharing the credentials.

However, the credentials to access the WordPress backend are incorrect. Please double-check the credentials and edit your previous private message if necessary.

Please try again, seems like it didn't save the password, but works now with the same credentials.

Thanks! This time I was able to access the site.

I have to mention that the site without the WPML plugins was performing poorly, however, after activating the WPML plugins and running some troubleshooting steps the performance is correct.

Could you please tell me what the troubleshooting steps were?

Yes 🙂

I followed these steps:
- Re-saved the permalinks
- Flush the cache memory
- Activated the WPML plugins and ran the steps described in this link: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-troubleshooting-options/
