[Resolved] The Product categories do not show the corresponding images in the English translation
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is experiencing issues with product category images not displaying in the English translation of their website. They have already duplicated all media but updating the category does not show the images. Additionally, some images and their translated text (Alt, Caption, Description) are not showing in the media gallery.
Solution: We recommend the following steps to resolve the issue with product category images: 1. Navigate to WPML > Settings > Media Translation section. 2. Enable the settings as shown in the documentation and click on the "Start" button to duplicate images for the English language. 3. Go to Products > Categories > Quick edit and update the category to sync the product category image to the translation category. For new categories and their translations, the image should sync automatically. If this solution does not seem relevant to your issue, please open a new support ticket here.

Hello,
thank you for your reply! I got to know the system better but still have some issues:
The Product categories do not show the corresponding images in the English translation
(your screenshot shows a section where the category is set to show products):
hidden link
Can that be solved with a setting, rather than going manually into the each translation?
(I recently added a few new product categories and there manually added the image)
2. Go to Products > Categories > Quick edit and Update the category to sync the product category image to the translation category.
For the new category and its translation, the image is synced automatically.
According to your screenshots, I think the translation images in English are broken. Please try to delete all images in English and do the steps above again and see if it helps.
If it does not help, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated. Your next reply is set to private to share the info.
❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌
You can use this plugin to create the backup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme to change configurations on the site if needed. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
Hello,
thank you - I switched that feature off in Jetpack and hope you can log in now.
I also managed to make a new fully working staging site. So, if you log in you can switch to the staging site which won't matter if it breaks. As mentioned, there are five error logs in WPML > Support
Many thanks for your help,
Klaus
