To Andreas W ( https://wpml.org/forums/topic/buddyboss-group-type-translation/#post-15364552 )

Hi Andreas!

I answered you to fast. It doesn't work. I can translate the group type name to Swedish but still. The group can only have a type in ONE language. If I click on the group and change the site language to Swedish and change the group type to the Swedish translation and change back the language to English the group type in English is removed.

Hello,

Did you set the custom fields shown in the screenshot to translate?

You need to go to WPML > Settings > Custom Field Translation and click "Show system fields" to find them.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi Andreas!

My group types are translated in the WordPress editor mode.
I have enabled the custom field translations in your screenshot. I have double checked them now and they are exactly the same.

Hello,

Could it be that you did not translate the group type key (the slug of the group type) correctly inside the WPML Translation Editor?

I would like to offer to have a closer look at the problem and request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the website to investigate this issue further.

You can find the required fields below the comment section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, which means only you and I can see and access it.

IMPORTANT
Please be sure to make a backup copy of the website and database before allowing us access.
If you can't see the wp-admin / FTP fields, your post and website credentials are set as PUBLIC. DO NOT publish the data unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields.

The private response form looks like this:

Hi Andreas!

Is this the group type key? Is yes, these fields are all translated. If not, can you please provide a screenshot for me?

Hi!

The slug is a part of the URL, and it needs to be written in lowercase letters. You can use a hyphen to connect two words.

See screenshot.

Hi and thanks Andreas!

How do I get to that windows? I can find the group name in the WPML String Translation settings but nowhere can I find where to translate the slug.

This is what you would see if you translate your Group Type with the WPML Translation Editor and the Classic Translation Editor would be the translation method.

I would be happy to offer to take a closer look and would like to request temporary access (wp-admin) to the website to investigate the issue further.

Hello,

Andreas will be back tomorrow to take a closer look at your issue. Let me give you a quick tip, while Andreas is away:

To check if the slug is translated, you can simply:

1. Go to WPML > Translation Management;
2. Select "Group Type" in the filters;
3. Select a Group Type and assign it to yourself or another translator profile you have access to;
4. Go to WPML > Translations

There, you'll be able to edit the translation and check if the slug is already translated.

Hi Lucas and thanks for your reply!

It all checks out. It's translated. It still doesn't work. I will wait for Andreas.

If the screenshot you uploaded is not for my eyes only I would like you to delete it. This is because of all the extra info you can see from the backend of my site. That makes it a security issue. Thanks.

With best regards,

bb
