This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to translate a custom post type project using WPML's Advanced Translation Editor, but the translated versions of these posts are redirecting to the homepage even after being marked as complete and published. The original French version works fine. You suspect a plugin conflict as WPML debug tool reports 38 third-party plugins, and WPML mentioned compatibility issues with some plugins.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend checking your WPML settings. Under WPML > Settings, you can find the Translated documents options. Here, you can choose whether translated posts should be published automatically or saved as drafts. This setting is crucial as saving them as drafts is useful if someone on your team reviews translations before publishing. Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, do not hesitate to open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate the custom post type project using WPML's Advanced Translation Editor. The translated versions of these posts, such as hidden link, are redirecting to the homepage even after being marked as complete and published. The original French version works fine. I had to manually re-save or re-publish the translations to fix it. I suspect a plugin conflict as WPML debug tool reports 38 third-party plugins, and WPML mentioned compatibility issues with some plugins. The issue can be seen at hidden link.

Symptoms:
Translated project pages redirect to the homepage or a ?post_type=project&p=xxxxx URL which resolves to the homepage.

Questions:
Can you help us identify which plugin is causing the conflict?
Could you help point out the most likely plugin(s) so we can test with them deactivated?

Dear Team
I tried with the suggestion that you gave me, but None of the listed known issues apply to my case. The problem was caused by translated posts remaining unpublished (draft), even though translations were marked as complete. We’d like to understand how to prevent this in the future — why would WPML mark a translation as complete but not publish the post? before things work so great and smoothly! This is new to us!

Hi,

why would WPML mark a translation as complete but not publish the post?

This behavior is expected and depends on your settings.
Under WPML > Settings > hidden link">Translated documents options, you can choose whether translated posts should be published automatically or saved as drafts. Saving them as drafts is useful if someone on your team reviews translations before publishing.

Best Regards,
Marcel
