[Resolved] Translation is 100% complete and I've marked it completed but it won't leave the queue or allow me...
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to complete a translation using WPML, but the translation is marked as 100% complete and won't leave the queue. Additionally, you cannot see the translated page on the front end. Solution: We have identified that there is custom code on your page that WPML is not processing correctly. Since a permanent solution has not yet been developed, we recommend translating the page manually. Please follow these steps: 1. Ensure you have a full website backup. 2. Delete the existing translations by going to your pages tab, switching languages using the flag icon in the top bar, and sending the translation to the trash. Then, permanently delete the translation from the trashcan. Repeat this for all secondary languages. 3. Visit the original page in the WordPress Editor and select "WordPress editor". For more details, visit Using Different Translation Editors for Different Pages. 4. Translate the page using Elementor by copying content from the original and replacing texts with their respective translations.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, please check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. We highly recommend opening a new support ticket if needed.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Thank you for sharing all the details. It seems you are having an issue with the latest version of WPML's Translation Editor.
The best way to solve that, is to revert to the previous version, until we can find a fix for this issue. This has no impact on existing translations and should solve your issue. Make sure to have a full website backup before proceeding.
Simply go to the editor, click the cog icon in the top right corner of the screen, and toggle the option to use the previous version.
You can also disable the bigger segments option if you prefer to translate paragraphs as separate sentences.
After that, try saving the translation again. Let me know if that solves your issue.
Hi, I switched the translation interface to the previous version as instructed, however the homepage is still in the translation queue and did not register as "completed"
This is what I'm seeing now in my page list - "Waiting for automatic translation". I Go into the page, see that everything is translated and reviewed, and I click "complete translation" at the bottom, and it goes back to "waiting for automatic translation" in the page list. Please help!
I've removed the temporary access you shared, because this Forum might become public in the future. Nonetheless, I checked your website, but couldn't find a solution right away.
I'll get a second opinion with our devs. To do that, I need to have an admin user in your website, so they can check your settings and information in more detail.
The required fields can be found below the comments section. The information you enter is private, i.e. only you and I can see it and have access to it.
I may need to replicate your website locally. To do this, I need to temporarily install a plugin called "Duplicator" or "All in One WP Migration" on your website. This will allow me to create a copy of your website and content. Once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local website. Let me know if this works for you.
IMPORTANT
Please make a backup copy of the site files and database before giving us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields, this means your post and site login details are being made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details if you do not see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:
We won't need FTP access at first, thank you for asking. I've taken your ticket to our devs and will get back to you as soon as I have new information.
I apologize. I'm in touch with the developers and will get back as soon as possible. There's an issue with the way your translation is being processed, because of a script tag present in the code.
I apologize for the delayed response, it took us a while to identify what was going on. So, as I said previously, there's custom code on your page that is not being properly processed by WPML. It's very specific and can be considered an edge case.
We haven't developed a permanent solution yet, so in this case I suggest you to translate the page manually. To do that, first make sure to have a full website backup, and:
1. Delete the translations: go to your pages tab, switch languages in the top bar (the flag icon), and send the translation to the trash. Finally, remove the translation from the trashcan (delete it completely). Do that for all secondary languages;
2. Visit the original page, in the WordPress Editor, and select "WordPress editor". You can check for more details here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/
Finally, simply translate the page using Elementor. You can copy content from the original and repolace texts with their respective translations. Thank you for your comprehension. Let me know if you have questions about the process.
