I spoke with a support agent last week and they suggested we see how the client translates.

They completed the translations + edits a while ago but they are seeing their work being reverted.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting WPML support team,

I see multiple things that we could check in order to better understand this issue,

1- The status of the translation is interesting, stated as "waiting for automatic translation".
Can you please try to do a backup of your site and go to WPML > Support > troubleshooting and try all the following buttons: hidden link

There is also a button below called "Cancel automatic translation jobs", click on it

You can refer to this documentation on how to do it : https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-troubleshooting-options/

This should correct the translation status of these pages

2- Then go to the page in the default language and edit it , add a small edit like a dot or a word which should be enough to re-scan the elements of your page

WPML will then reset the status to the correct one "needs updates", that's when you should open the page in translation editor again and finish any missing parts in the translation

3- If that didn't help, we would like to ask you to enable debug information for this matter, which will provide us with more insights about your website. You may refer to this link for instructions on how to do this: http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

I dont think the translation status is a "constant" factor. The client had updated the translations and over time found they had been changed.

Hello,

What I'm trying to say is that sometimes you might have a server connection issue, a recent plugin update that affects the content or even a caching issue that can cause this kind of issue, and there is no way for WPML to detect that automatically.

This is why just doing a slight change to the original content will change the status of its translation and force WPML to reload the content elements from scratch.

PS: I also recommend updating WPML plugins as you seem to not using the latest version.

If that didn't help, I would like to ask for temporary access to your test site’s wp-admin and FTP to investigate the issue further.

It is important to note that you should back up your site and database before proceeding, and you can use a plugin like Duplicator for this purpose. Here’s a link to the plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
