This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're experiencing an "undefined" message next to any layout you create in the Avada Layout Builder, it might be due to a conflict with the WPML plugin.
Solution:
We recommend going to Avada > Options > Builder Options and changing the "Builder Auto Activation" to OFF. This action will enable the WordPress Editor view and should resolve the issue.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it's outdated, we suggest opening a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you need further assistance, please contact us in the WPML support forum.

I've observed that an "undefined" message appears next to any layout I create in the Avada Layout Builder. Initially, I was unsure about the cause. Upon researching on Google, I came across a post where someone reported encountering the same issue. The suggestion was to disable the WPML plugin, and upon following this advice, the issue disappeared. I can confirm that the problem is associated with the WPML plugin.

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

I understand the issue you're having and will try my best to assist you in this matter.

Upon reviewing your site, I noticed that it is currently using an outdated version of the Avada theme (version 6.4.2). It's important to note that several enhancements have been made in Avada theme version 7 and later, particularly concerning WPML compatibility. I recommend updating the Avada Parent theme to its latest version (7.11.3) and then check if you're still having the issue.

From the WPML Debug Info, I also noticed that the WordPress memory limit on your site is currently set below the recommended level. For optimal performance of the WPML plugin, a minimum memory limit of 128M is necessary, though having 256M is preferable. Could you consider increasing the memory limit? You can refer to the guide provided below for instructions on how to enhance the memory limit.

I hope it will help. Feel free to let me know if you need further assistance in this matter. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hi there,

I appreciate your response. I'd like to clarify that version 6.4.2 pertains to WordPress, not the Avada theme. The Avada theme is at version 7.11.3, see screenshot for verification.

I've also observed that the PHP memory limit exceeds your recommendation. Although I adjusted the WordPress memory limit as advised, the error persists.

Hello There,
I hope you're doing well. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the weekend.

Thank you for the update. Could you activate the WordPress debug log on your site to see if it provides more detailed information about the error? Please check the guide below to understand how you can enable the debug log.

After enabling the debug log, please engage with the "Layout" page to ensure the error is captured in the log file. If you observe additional details about the error, kindly copy them and share them in your next response.

Additionally, you can also open the Browser Developer Tool and examine if there are any errors displayed in the Console tab. If you find any errors there, please take a screenshot and share it in the next response as well.

To understand how you can access the Browser developer tool and check the console, please check this article: hidden link

I will check all the information and try my best to assist you in finding a solution. Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hello There,
Thank you for the update.

As the issue persists, a closer inspection will be required to understand the root cause of the issue.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT
-Please backup site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Looking forward to your response.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

Hello There,
Thank you for sharing the access information.

I've explored all the available solutions, but unfortunately, they haven't been effective in resolving the issue. However, I've noticed several deprecated warnings in the debug log, which leads me to suspect they might be related to the problem. Could you please try downgrading the PHP version to 7.4, which is also known to be stable, and then check if the issue persists? This approach will also help us determine if the PHP version is contributing to the issue.

Please make sure to take a backup before downgrading the PHP version.

Please let me know how it goes. I will be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hello There,
Thank you for updating the PHP version.

I've thoroughly checked and would like to inform you that the issue is solved now. It was happening due to enabling the Avada Frontend Builder as the default builder. This configuration prevented WPML from recognizing the IDs assigned to each layout section within the Layout and led to the appearance of 'undefined' notices.

I went to "Avada > Options > Builder Options" and changed the "Builder Auto Activation" to OFF, which enabled the WordPress Editor view and solved the issue.

Please let me know if there is anything else you need help with. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
