This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

French and German are showing as unavailable for automatic DeepL translation. The following message shows.

Your selected automatic translation engines do not support the following language(s).

Solution:

The problem was the mapping of the languages. When I went to WPML -> Languages -> Site Languages and pressed the 'Edit languages' option, I saw that the related languages were not mapped. So I mapped them accordingly. Please read more about mapping languages with automatic translation here.

Tell us what you are trying to do?

Translate pages and posts to french, german, portugese using DeepL

Is there any documentation that you are following?

Yes the list of supported languages shown on the WPML site

Is there a similar example that we can see?

See attached images

What is the link to your site?

hidden link

We urgently need to do the translations to the three other languages (today) and the client has requested DeepL. The WPML site shows that DeepL should support french, german, portugese

The WPML tools show that the hidden link is connected to the old staging site auto translation account and should share the billing.

Hi,

I confirm that DeepL should support translations from English to French, German, and Portuguese (Portugal).

I'm consulting our second-tier supporters about this case and will get back to you.

Hi,

I fixed this issue on your site.

Initially, I thought the problem was because French, German, and Portuguese (Portugal) were hidden on your site. Please see the attached screenshot hidden-langs.jpg. But unhiding them didn't solve the issue. So I hid them again.

Then I discovered that the problem was the mapping of the languages. When I went to WPML -> Languages -> Site Languages and pressed the 'Edit languages' option, I saw that the related languages were not mapped. Please see the attached screenshot not-mapped.jpg. So I mapped them accordingly. Please read more about mapping languages with automatic translation here.

https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-exclude-a-language-from-automatic-translation/

I've made a test with one post and one page to make sure it works. Please see the attached screenshot.

Can you please confirm that the issue is solved now?
