This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client's editor cannot edit content in the English language, although they can edit the default language (German).

Solution:
We recommend checking if the editor is assigned as a translator for the English language by going to WPML > Translation Management > Translators. Here, you can define the language pairs for the user. For more information, please refer to this documentation: How to Set Up Local Translators and Language Pairs.

Another potential issue could be that the content is in the translation basket, which holds content pending translation. If necessary, clear the basket and attempt to edit again. For guidance on this, see: Translating Your Contents.

We suggest using the manual translation option as the best approach for your situation. If this solution does not resolve your issue, please open a new support ticket with us.

Hello there,

1) For our customer for whom our website is intended, I have created a new WordPress user with the role editor. For our customer it should be possible to edit the content in wordpress with this user. For the default language DE, it is possible. If you now change the language to EN, nothing can be edited with this user within a page.

How can this be changed? (s1 - s3, attached)

2) Also, is it possible to work only in the wordpress editor without opening the wpml translation editor? Like in s2? This would be much easier for our customer if he wants to edit content.

3) Our dev site has just been registered for wpml as a dev site. As soon as we launch the site at our customer, we would adapt the license in wpml and set it to production. However, the domain will be a different one. Is there anything else to consider here?

Thank you for reaching out to us. Since we can only look at one problem at a time per ticket, I split your ticket into 3. You will be notified about the other two. You can also see them on your client dashboard. Let's look at your first issue.

This can happen due to a few reasons. First, the user will only be able to edit the content he's assigned to as a translator. By accessing WPML > Translation Management > Translators, you can define the language pairs for the user. Here there's more information, in case you need:

Another cause for this issue might be that the content you are trying to translate is in the translation basket. The translation basket is a list with all the content that has yet to be translated. If you want, you can clear your basket and try again. You can refer to this article, for more information:

Please note that, in your case, the option to manually translate everything is the recommended one. Please let me know if that solved your issue.
