This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client wants to use their own DeepL API account instead of WPML Credits for automatic translation.
Solution:
We explained that it is not possible to use a personal DeepL Pro API license with WPML, as we only support integration through a DeepL Developer license with a different pricing scheme. We provided a link to the documentation on how to use DeepL with WPML: Translate your WordPress site with DeepL.
We also provided a link to more information about Automatic Translation pricing: Automatic Translation Pricing.

If so, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket with us.

Hi.
I have an account with Deepl API and I'd like to use it instead of the WPML Credits, how can that be done?

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support!

Unfortunately this is not possible. We are only allowed to use a DeepL Developer license that uses a different pricing scheme than the Pro API.

This is the reason why we created our own implementation via this Developer API. Unfortunately, it is not possible to enter your Pro license. How you can use DeepL with it is described in detail here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/translate-your-wordpress-site-with-deepl/ .

Kind regards,
Marsel

I see, but that will increase significantly our costs, when it seems like an arbitrary limitation as the pricing you charge per credits is definitely higher than what can be achieved with Deepl directly.

Isn't there any other way?

I understand your concern about the costs of the current implementation, and I want to assure you that we have explored various options to integrate DeepL seamlessly within WPML while considering functionality, security, and cost-effectiveness.

However, I regret to inform you that there isn't an alternative method available at the moment for the integration through the DeepL API, the method mentioned in my previous reply, is the only method supported within WPML.

We're continuously evaluating and improving our offerings, so your feedback is valuable to us as we strive to enhance our services in the future.
