Problem:
The client is having difficulty translating their website and is considering deleting all WPML-related data. They are concerned about what will happen to the translation credits that have already been used.
Solution:
We informed the client that any credits that have been used for translations are non-refundable. However, unused credits remain available and can be used on other sites. Before deleting the site, it is crucial to remove any assigned credits. For further guidance, we provided links to our documentation:

Additionally, we explained the benefits of WPML's Advanced Translation Editor and its Translation Memory feature, which saves translations and applies them to similar content in the future. This feature is site-specific, and if the client wishes to use the Translation Memory on other sites, they must first connect the sites. If the client encounters any issues or if the provided solution is not relevant due to being outdated or not applicable to their case, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also advise checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that the latest versions of themes and plugins are installed.

I’m having a hard time making my website to translate properly, I might need to make aome changes and start the automatic translation again… if I delete all wpml related what will happen to the credits that were used?

Please note that any credits that have been used are non-refundable, even if you decide to delete your website.

However, unused credits do not expire and can be used on other sites. If you have credits assigned to your current website, it's important that you remove them before deleting the site.

I understand are not refundable, I assume all translated text will be stored somewhere I can access later on, the all the content will still be the same, is just that for some reason I can't make WPML properly show the translates when switching to other languages, it looks like I have to register the theme widgets to be recognized by WMPL so I wanted to switch the widgets from the custom widgets to the elementor widgets and perhaps have a smoother translation... I tried with a section from the home page I see that it was translated but when going to the live website and switching between the languages the content doesn't show up.

WPML's Advanced Translation Editor is equipped with a Translation Memory feature. The translations are automatically saved in the translation memory whenever you translate content using this editor. The saved translations can then be applied to similar content in the future, which can save time and effort.

It's important to note that the Translation Memory feature is available only on the particular site where the translations were made. If you want to use the Translation Memory on other sites, you need to connect the sites first. Details on how to do this can be found at https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-subscription-for-multiple-sites/.

However, simply connecting the sites won't automatically transfer the translations. You must first translate the content using the Advanced Translation Editor, which segments content into sentences or phrases. The saved translations will be applied as soon as a match is found, while any remaining segments will be left untranslated.
