Unable to upload custom flag

bonnieK-2	I am using wrodpress.com, Flatsome theme, with VERY little customization. I want English as my main language and French as my second language Somehow, my installation seems to have gone awry about a half hour after I installed. But lets start on a really simple item. I am unable to upload an American Flag (either jpg or svg both a8 x 12) to the language switcher. I successfully uploaded a Quebec Flag early in my installation. On a side note. How do I even get to these flags that are suggested on your help page?
