we use WPML and The Events Calendar. Unfortunately, the "Events Status" setting is not applied to the translation if you set it to "canceled" in the original language, for example.
Also, there is the following problem:
If an event does not have a post image set initially and you add an image later, that image is not shown in the translation.
Solution: By default, a post status (even a regular post) does not currently change when the status is changed. So this likely will need to be done manually for each language. This is a feature that we are working to implement in a future release.
As for the image, did you update the translation after uploading the image to the original language? Also make sure that the option to duplicate featured images and duplicate uploaded media are checked in the Languages box in the original post.
