Background of the issue:
I recently synced my production site to staging. After doing so, each time I log in to my staging site, I see a notification from WPML.

Symptoms:
WPML detected a new address for this site. Looks like this site was previously at hidden link and now it’s at hidden link.

Questions:
Which option should I choose so that the notification ceases to appear each time we log in?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you wait for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with the first debugging steps or see if I can help with the issue quickly.

The domain it shows remains the same, as it is hidden link for both the current and original site. It should not be like this. Is hidden link the production site?

Please share your site's Debug information if you need further help with this issue. You can read about it here: http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

Additionally, on the site where you receive this message, please navigate to WPML -> Support -> Troubleshooting (link) and share with us the 'Automatic Translation account id'.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi Itamar,

Please note that since I have opened this ticket, we have already published several new blog posts to our production site. We would like our production site, hidden link, to remain untouched.

Can you please explain how we can periodically export/sync our production site to staging?

We are also interested in sharing translations across both sites. Can you please explain the best way to manage that on a content-driven news site that's updated almost daily, like ours?

Thanks,
Adrian

Hello,

You can connect both sites, so that they share translation memory, glossary and credits:
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-subscription-for-multiple-sites/

This will not automatically merge the translation, but if you open a translation on one site, you will see the translation memory coming from the other site, and the translations will be auto-completed without any extra costs.

IMPORTANT (just in case you use "Pay As You Go"):
Make sure that only one of the sites has an active subscription, in case you use Pay As You Go. Then merge site site that does not have a subscription with the site that currently has an active subscription.

Another way would be to use our addon "WPML Export & Import" which supports the default export/import methods of WordPress and WooCommerce:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-export-and-import/

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards
Andreas
