Background of the issue:
I am trying to publish a new WooCommerce product using WPML in WordPress Classic mode. After two WPML updates, I started having problems with the Classic mode. I prefer the Classic mode over the Advanced mode. When I publish a product in Classic mode, it doesn't appear in the Shop category page. I have to switch to Advanced mode, edit the translated language, mark 'The translation is complete,' and save for the product to show in the categories.

Symptoms:
After publishing a product in Classic mode, it doesn't show up in the store. I need to switch to Advanced mode and mark 'The translation is complete' to make it appear.

Questions:
Why does the product not appear in the Shop category page when published in Classic mode?
How can I publish products in Classic mode without switching to Advanced mode?

Hi,

Could you let me know if this issue occurs with products that have a lot of content? I noticed your current setting for:

MaxInputVars 1000

In some cases, this value may be too low to save all translation data, which can prevent the translation from reaching 100%, even if everything appears translated.

If the issue also occurs with very simple products (e.g., just a title), could you try reproducing it here?

Does the issue persist on this site?

And just to confirm, are you referring to the **Advanced Translation Editor** vs **Classic Translation Editor**?

Hello there.

So, I did testes with 160 words only product and got the same issue.
I changed the "MaxInputVars 1000" to "MaxInputVars 5000" and still have the same issue.

I noticed one thing in common. This issue is with Variable Products only. I just translated a Simple Product and it showed fine in the store (after publishing it). But for Variable Products I need to do all the steps I said Before (to force the "complete translation" checkbox via WPML Editor a.k.a Advanced Translator).

"And just to confirm, are you referring to the **Advanced Translation Editor** vs **Classic Translation Editor**?"

Yes. For "Advanced mode" I wanted to say = WPML Editor; and "Classic mode" I wanted to say = "WordPress editor".

Hello,

It might be the case, that you switched the translation method for the product to "WordPress Editor" while still having a review available or a job in progress.

You will need to switch the translation method back to "WPML Translation Editor" and complete the review.

If there are still jobs in progress on the WPML Translation Editor, you can cancel them at WPML > Translation Management > Jobs.

After that, you can switch the translation method back to "WordPress-Editor".

Best regards
Andreas

No. There is no pending job. I don't use jobs or automatic translation. I just translate everything myself.

Looks like WPML is forcing us to move forward to the new translation method.

I go to Settings, click to go to Advanced. Then Click back to Classic. When I go to a edit page of a translation products I see this notice (uploaded image).

The translation method is set on each post and can be-

"WPML Translation Editor"

or

"WordPress Editor".

The notification that you mention is expected, on the original content, inside the right sidebar of the WordPress Editor the "WPML Translation Editor" is set as the translation method.

You should not edit translations on the WordPress Editor, while the "WPML Translation Editor" is set as the translation method on the original content.

What you see at WPML > Settings is to choose one of the two WPML Translation Editors:

Advanced Translation Editor:

or

Classic Translation Editor:

Yes. I was in the WordPress Classic Mode Globally.
I Saved the original product in WordPress Classic editor.
Then, when in translation editor I still saw the message.

I had to save again the translation product to make this notice to stop.

But this still getting far from the original problem, the reason of this topic. When I add a new product I'll test the issue again.

BTW I have a step by step guide to fix an old issue I had, and maybe the issue is related or not. But the topic was close:

If you reopen it I can add the steps I did.

If you can still recreate the issue, please let me know and we can run further tests.

Important is, that on the original content the "WordPress Editor" is set as a translation method inside the right sidebar of the WordPress Editor and that there are not any prior jobs in progress or available for review inside WPML > Translations.

Take note, that we only handle one issue per ticket. I need to ask you to open a new ticket for the mentioned second issue.
