Hello WPML Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am facing an issue with translating the header and footer on my website.

The theme I am using has its own built-in header and footer system. However, these elements are not appearing anywhere in WPML translation options — neither in Automatic Translation nor in Manual Translation.

Because of this:

I am unable to translate the header content (menu, labels, etc.)
I am also unable to translate the footer content
These elements are completely missing from WPML’s translation interface

I have already checked:

Automatic Translation
Manual Translation
String Translation

But the header and footer content are still not available for translation.

Could you please:

Guide me on how to locate and translate theme-based header and footer content
OR
Translate/fix this from your end if possible

If needed, I can provide admin or staging access for you to investigate directly.

Looking forward to your support.

Hello Abdul Rehman,

Welcome to WPML support. The problem might be the fact that the theme you use is not compatible with WPML.

I'd be happy to check but I will need some information.

Please provide the debug information following the steps below:

https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support

Also, I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.

Make sure you set the next reply as private.

Please also provide the HTTP user pass as the front end can not be checked and a password and username is needed. You can add them under server info.

Note: We will do our best to see if it is possible to translate the header/footer but it might not be possible if the theme is not compatible.

Thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for the login information. I checked and enabled the header and footer translation from WPML Settings and it seems to be working ok.

The issue now is that the menu that you used for the header is not yet translated, as you used the custom links.

Please go to this link:

hidden link

And finish the translation of all the menu labels and links there.

For more information:

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-menus/

After that, please make sure that you go to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > WP Menu Sync, select all the items and click the sync button and wait for the process to finish.

You now have + icons next to the footer, headers, banners and other stuff that the theme has.

Note: We do not have an official compatibility with the theme you use. It might be some scenarios where the inclusion of the theme developers will be necessary, as we will not be able to delve to their code to see why there is a conflict.

Thanks.
