This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to make your website bilingual using WPML with YOOtheme on a staging site. The English translation is not displayed on the .com domain, and the 'back to Home' link leads to a Not-Found page. Additionally, you are unable to translate the footer and header.
Solution:
The issue might be due to the known incompatibility between YOOtheme and WPML. For translating content with YOOtheme, manual translation is required. We recommend following the steps outlined in our documentation on using different translation editors for different pages, which can be found here: Using Different Translation Editors for Different Pages.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to make my website bilingual (German/English) using WPML on a staging site with YooTheme. The site is hidden link, and I have completed the translations. I have integrated the widget language switcher in the header and footer. The translation should be displayed on a second domain: hidden link. The menu is translated and links correctly.

Symptoms:
On the .com domain, the English translation is not displayed within the content, only the German original. The 'back to Home' link leads to a Not-Found page. I cannot find a way to translate the footer and header, not even within the strings.

Questions:
Why is the English translation not displayed on the .com domain?
How can I fix the 'back to Home' link leading to a Not-Found page?
How can I translate the footer and header using WPML?

Hi,

This may very well be because the YOOtheme is known to be incompatible with WPML. You can read about it in the following link.

https://wpml.org/theme/yootheme/

This theme needs to be translated manually, as we explain here.

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

Although other problems are mentioned in the above link and the links to YOOtheme.
