This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is unable to update the WPML plugins (sitepress-multilingual-cms, wpml-cms-nav, and wpml-media-translation) and is experiencing an error with the language switcher function, where the expected dropdown does not appear.
Solution:
1. To manually check for WPML updates:
- Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin in WordPress admin.
- Switch to the Commercial tab.
- Click the Check for updates button.
2. If updates are not visible or if there are issues updating through WordPress, use the OTGS Installer for a manual update:
- Download the OTGS Installer from https://wpml.org/account/downloads/.
- Deactivate and delete the current WPML plugins.
- Upload and activate the OTGS Installer, then download and activate the necessary WPML components.
3. To resolve the language switcher issue:
- Clear WPML's cache via WPML → Support → Troubleshooting and click the Clear the Cache in WPML button.
- Ensure WordPress translations are up-to-date in Dashboard → Updates.

If these steps do not resolve the issues or if the solution seems outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to update the WPML plugin, specifically the sitepress-multilingual-cms, wpml-cms-nav, and wpml-media-translation components. However, I am unable to find the options to update these addons. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.

Symptoms:
I expected to see a dropdown to select the language, but instead, there is an error with the switch language function and nothing appears.

Questions:
Why can't I see the options to update the WPML addons?
How can I resolve the error with the switch language function?

Hello,
My name is Carlos, and I will continue working on this ticket.

I ran several tests and translated the key elements necessary for the front page to display correctly in all languages.

The issue with the language switcher is not caused by the switcher itself, but rather by the menu code. Specifically, the submenu items are not being displayed as dropdowns.

You can verify this behavior by adding a submenu item to the main English menu and observing that it does not appear on the front end. This confirms that the problem lies with the menu setup.
