Problem:
The client is experiencing performance issues in the admin panel after adding multiple languages to a large site, resulting in a high load on the database. The client found that disabling the "Adjust IDs for multilingual functionality" option improved performance but is unsure what this option does.
Solution:
We explained that the "Adjust IDs for multilingual functionality" option is used for adjusting post and term IDs in the WordPress admin to match the default language. If the client's theme does not require this functionality and there are no issues with the display of content, it is safe to leave this option disabled.
To address backend slowness, we suggested disabling the language column in the admin panel, as it can improve performance. Additionally, we recommended setting up server-side caching solutions like Memcached and Redis for the backend.
