This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was trying to import 1710 glossary entries from one site to another, where 100 entries already existed. After the import, the new entries were not visible, even though the import process indicated 'Glossary successfully imported'.
Solution:
We recommended the client to remove all glossary entries starting with a specific letter (e.g., 'A') and then attempt to reimport the glossary entries. This approach was tested and confirmed to show the newly imported entries correctly.

If you're experiencing similar issues, we recommend trying this method. However, this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to export a CSV file with 1710 glossary entries from kruess.com and import it to kruess-shop.de, which already has about 100 entries. Both sites have the same 4 languages. I expected to see all 1720+ entries after the import. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
The import process reported 'Glossary successfully imported', but I do not see any changes. Only the old entries are visible. The issue seems to occur when there are already entries in the glossary.

Questions:
Why are the new glossary entries not visible after a successful import?
Does the import process fail when there are existing entries in the glossary?

Thanks for your reply.

I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Thanks for your reply.

I removed all glossaries with the letter "A" and reimported and it shows up fine. Could you retry again?

Hi Kor, Sorry für the late answer, but I did not receive the email with your answer. Today the closing Bot informed me.

I did check and it works. And I tried to import at the real shop and it works. I do not know, why it didn't work the days before. I am sorry. Please close the ticket and thank you very much.
