This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
You updated a sentence in a post and need to translate it from English to Spanish, including updating internal URLs to the respective Spanish post. However, using WPML to translate an already translated post overwrites your edits with a new translation.
Solution:
When you update original content and need to translate these updates, it's important to use the same translation method that was initially used. In the WordPress Editor, on the right sidebar, you can choose between:
- WPML Translation Editor
- WordPress Editor
Stick to the method previously used for that content to avoid overwriting manual edits made using the WordPress Editor. If you switch between the WPML Translation Editor and the WordPress Editor, the manual edits will be overwritten.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. Also, check the related known issues and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. For further assistance, please visit our support forum.
