[Resolved] In WPML editor content in translation is copied content from default language
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is attempting to copy content from an ACF block to a translated page using the WPML editor. However, instead of seeing the translated content, all content is being copied from the default language. Solution: We tested by switching the theme to Twenty Twenty-Four and deactivating all third-party plugins, leaving only ACF and WPML active. Using WPML's Classic Translation Editor, the image and link were successfully copied to other languages. We recommend using WPML's Translation Editor to copy the fields to other languages. If you need to use the WordPress editor instead, please contact us for further assistance.
Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.

Background of the issue:
Ultimately, I'm trying to copy content of an acf block to a translated page. For that the acf block is set to copy. I'm using the WPML editor in order to update the translations of this block but instead of seeing the translated content I see all the content being copied from the default language, see links to screenshots. How is that possible? How do I manage to have the german content in the right column in the WPML editor?
This ticket has been inactive for quite a while. I didn't get a reply from you. So, I've transformed this chat into a support ticket because you may still need our help. If you do, please reply to this ticket, and one of our supporters will continue helping you.
It's the block "Supporters list" which I need to have copied, if possible with the WordPress editor as the pages have been translated with the WordPress editor.
Yes its a block created with ACF and sorry it's not Supporters List but "Page Supporter List", you find the block at the end of the page already included.
I'm sorry, but when I go to ACF -> Fields Groups, I don't see a group named "Page Supporter List." Please see the attached screenshot, no-field-group.jpg.
However, when I go to WPML -> Settings -> Custom Fields Translation, I can find one field with the name supporter_link. This field is set to "Copy once." Please see the attached screenshot, supporter_link.jpg.
The meaning of "Copy once" is: Copies the field value to translations just once, allowing you to independently modify the field values in translations afterward.
So you will not see it in the translations after the first time.
Please let me know if the above clarifies things or if you have further questions.
Thanks Itamar it seems indeed that for some reasons the block was in trash - it's recovered now. The situation is the following: the translations have been done with the WordPress Editor. If I understand you correct, these translations won't be visible if we switch now to the WPML Editor. I know that if the translations would have been done with the WPML Editor: the acf field content would be copied to the other languages. The question now is: Is it also possible to have the acf field copied if we use the WordPress Editor? Testing that it doesn't seem to work. (I adjust something in the supporter list in the english page, I go on the french page, update the page, the adjustments are not seen).
Its on the page called About us - hidden link - It's the last block on the page. I added the two last items for test reason (both with the link google.com) and hoped to see these two items on the translated pages too.
I could see the problem on the page you sent me, but only in German and Italian. It worked in French.
Did you add the google.com links manually in French?
There was an ongoing translation into German with the Classic Translation Editor. I completed it, and now the links are also in German. I also added one link and image, which works only in German. But none of the new links work in Italian. Something does not seem fine here.
I want to test things further. Do you allow me to switch the theme and deactivate third-party plugins?
Thanks for your reply, yes you can switch themes and deactivate third party plugins as it is a staging site and not used currently for anything else.
I switched between the WPML editor to translate and the WordPress editor to translate. I initiatially added the content in english and hoped that with the WordPress Editor it would be copied over. It did work with the WPML editor but not with the WordPress editor.
I switched the theme to Twenty Twenty-Four but then I could not see the fields. This is probably because the block is defined in your theme. So, I deactivated all the third-party plugins. Only ACF and WPML were active. When I use WPML's Classic Translation Editor the image and link are being copied to the other languages, French, German, and Italian. I can check it by switching the language with the top admin bar. Please see the attached screenshot switch-lang-admin.jpg. When I'm on the editing screen of the other languages, the test images and links I added are there. Please see the attached screenshot image-link-ok.jpg.
So please use WPML's Translation Editor to copy the fields to the other languages.
If you must use the WordPress editor please let me know and we will continue to investigate this issue.
