This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
I installed the Woodmart theme. On mobile I want the language switcher to be first on the menu. When I go to WPML > Languages > Menu language switcher, I selected "first menu item" and save the settings it doesn't work. When I reload the wp-admin page the selection button is back to "last menu item".

I also don't want to display the current language, but somehow it keeps showing the current language.

Solution:
If the WPML is enabled, then the Header builder of the Woodmart theme will have the option to display the language switcher on the header. If that option is enabled, then the Language switcher will always appear at the end of the Menu, not in the first place.

If another menu is used for the Mobile version, then we need to make sure that a language swither is configured for that specific menu. To display the language switcher at the first position and hide the current language, these adjustments(https://tinyurl.com/23xj7ewn) are required.

Hi,

Can you please check if this issue appears when:

- only WPML plugins are activated, as it will tell us if there is an interaction issue with other plugin
- theme is set to a WordPress default like Twenty Twenty as it will tell us if there is an interaction issue with your theme

Regards,

Hello There,
I hope this message finds you well. I will try my best to assist you in this matter.

I have checked your site and found that you're using a different menu on the Mobile version(the name of the Menu is "Mobile Navigation"). On a closer inspection, I noticed that the Language switcher is configured for another Menu. Not for the Menu that appears on the Mobile version of the site.

I have configured the Language Switcher for the Mobile Menu(hidden link) and now the Language Switcher is appearing on the First position of the Menu and also the Current language is no longer appearing.

Please check now and let me know if there is anything else you need help with. I will be happy to assist you.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

I didn't know you could configure the language switcher for a specific menu. My issue is resolved now, thank you!
