Background of the issue:
I am trying to use the ATE to translate an ACF link field. The field group is set to Expert and the link field in question is set to Translate. (See hidden link). All ACF JSON files are synchronized. The ACF JSON for this field set can be found here: hidden link

Symptoms:
When I check the exact field in 'WPML' --> 'Settings' --> 'Custom Fields Translation', I see that some of the fields have an incorrect setting that doesn't match the setting in the field group (see hidden link). Note that other fields (of the same type but different repeater index) have the correct translation settings. If you manually set the wrong fields in the Custom Field Translation settings, they will automatically be reset to 'Don't translate'.

Questions:
Why are some fields in 'Custom Fields Translation' not matching the settings in the field group?
Why do the settings automatically reset to 'Don't translate' when manually corrected?

Hi,

Reference to our recent chat, please let me know your findings when you're done with the following:

1) Take a full backup of your site and database before proceeding.
2) Deactivate all plugins except WPML, String Translation, ACF and ACFML.
3) Switch to a standard theme like 2024.
4) Check for the issue if it still happens.
5) Then start activating plugins one by one while keep checking for the issue. This way you 'll be able to pinpoint a conflict when & where it starts creating the problem.
6) If after activating all plugins you see that it still works fine, then switch to your theme and see if that's causing it.

I'll try my best to help you further on the matter.

Regards.
