My site have 2 languages: main is: English, the second is Vietnamese

english image: hidden link

vietnamese image: hidden link

I am trying to: translate image from english page to Vietnamese page.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: Vietnamese image version: hidden link

Instead, I got: English image version: hidden link . I can clear cache (I am using wordpress.com hosting) and image will come back vietnamese version, but after several F5 (refresh) page, It come back to english version

=> I disabled all plugin, but not wpml plugins and test. I found that when I disable plugin "WPML String Translation" , this error would fixed.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the support.

IMPORTANT: Take full backup of your website and database beforehand. It is highly advised to try the following on a staging/dev site first, so your live website isn't compromised.

I'll advise to update all WPML plugins to latest versions. You can try this by going to Plugins -> Add New -> Commercial -> Check for updates or manually downloading from https://wpml.org/account/downloads/ and uploading via Plugins -> Add New -> Upload.

Steps to update plugins manually from Plugins page:

1) Deactivate existing WPML plugins
2) Delete WPML plugins
3) Download latest versions from https://wpml.org/account/downloads/
4) Upload using Plugins -> Add New -> Upload
5) Activate

Steps to update plugins manually via FTP:

1) Deactivate existing WPML plugins.
2) Connect to your site via FTP and browse to the /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
3) Delete WPML plugins folders.
4) Download the latest versions from https://wpml.org/account/downloads/.
5) Unzip the downloaded files in separate folders, usually when you unzip the file, it creates a folder with the name of the plugin, with zip file's content extracted into it.
6) Upload the extracted (unzipped) folder via FTP, to the /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
7) Go to WP Admin -> Plugins and Activate.

and then check for the issue.

Also remember to update your theme to the latest version. As per our compatibility list, your theme was last tested with 10.3.8, however, updating to the latest version should also work fine, see following for details:

If issue continues to appear, I'll advise to try the following as well:

IMPORTANT: Take full backup of your website and database beforehand. It is highly advised to try the following on a staging/dev site first, so your live website isn't compromised.

- Deactivate all plugins except WPML and its addons and check for the issue.
- Activate each plugin one-by-one, while keeping check on the issue after a plugin is activated. This way you'll be able to pinpoint a plugin having a conflict (or problem), if any. You can also check for plugin compatibility with WPML at https://wpml.org/plugin/. If you find a plugin not compatible with WPML, I'll advise you to contact the plugin author.
- If the problem persists, repeat the above steps with a default theme of WordPress (i.e. 2023).
- Also check the browser's console for any JavaScript errors. If you find any, copy that in your next reply. See https://wordpress.org/support/article/using-your-browser-to-diagnose-javascript-errors/ for details on how to find these errors.

Please let me know if this helps resolve the issue. Or I'll try my best to further assist you on the matter.

Regards.

I deactived and removed and re-installed (by upload) all wpml plugins

After that, I disabled AGAIN all plugins, only keep 3 plugins:
WPML Multilingual CMS
String Translation
Media Translation

And I actived default wp theme: Twenty Twenty-Two

After that, I begined test:
- I disabled plugin "WPML String Translation" , this error would fixed.
- I active plugin "WPML String Translation" this error show again
- And don't have any JS error in chrome console.

I am using wordpress.com hosting

Hi,

Thank you for the updates.

Can you please enable debugging on your site? See https://wpml.org/documentation/support/debugging-wpml/ for details. Once enabled, browse the WordPress admin pages (random), frontend website and the said sections/pages a few times. This will log the errors in the debug.log file which you can upload somewhere and share the download link for investigation.

Further, provide admin access to your website to check the issue in detail. You can create a separate admin user for this purpose, which can be deleted afterwards.

Also provide following detail to investigate/observe the issue:

- detailed steps to reproduce the issue
- links to pages in admin and on frontend
- screenshots or screen recording if needed to explain
- any other relevant information to observe/investigate the issue

Remember to take full backup of your website and database before proceeding. However, a staging/test site is highly recommended, because I may need to try some changes/fixes on the site, which may cause conflicts with the live site otherwise. Please confirm it in your next reply or let me know if you do not agree with the mentioned.

I've set your next reply as private to share this information safely.

IMPORTANT: If you don't see the section for providing access information, do not write in the message box or the information may appear as public.

See https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/ for details on privacy and security.

Before continuing on the site, I'll also need your confirmation and approval on each of the followings:

1) Is this a Live/Production or Staging/Dev site?
2) Is it OK to work on this site?
3) Is it OK to try some changes/fixes on the site and/or activate/deactivate/install a plugin on the site, which may cause conflicts with the other parts of the site?
4) Have you taken full backup of your website and database?

Please confirm, thanks.

I can not reproduce the issue at your sanbox. I think reason is from hosting, and server cache

I am using wordpress.com hosting. So plugins should follow the standards of wordpress.com.

I disabled all plugin in my live site for you. So now you can go my wp-admin and check

Hi,

Thank you for the updates, I've tried to understand and investigate issue in more detail, as well as, discussed with the team.

Looks like it is relevant to the hosting as you noted earlier. I'll advise to contact your hosting service and discuss the matter. So whatever information you receive 'll be helpful for our team to further investigate the issue.

Secondly, please prepare a staging site on the same hosting server, replicating the same issue, then provide the access (admin and FTP). So I can then escalate the issue to the 2nd tier team for further investigation, because so far there's no such known issue on our end.

I've set your next reply as private to share staging server information safely.

IMPORTANT: If you don't see the section for providing access information, do not write in the message box or the information may appear as public.

wordpress.com have standards for plugin developer, I think they published this.

So you should follow standards of wordpress.com. I can not contact them and ask them change server setting. And I think they will require me contact wpml too
