This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was having difficulty setting up 'A different domain per language' using two domains, one for Czech and another for Slovak. Both domains were pointing to the same IP, but the second language domain could not be validated.
Solution:
We reviewed the settings and noticed that although the client had valid SSL certificates for both domains, the URL was being saved as http instead of https. We corrected this from the Settings -> General panel and refreshed the website. After this change, the second language domain was validated successfully.

If this solution doesn't seem relevant to your situation, please don't hesitate to open a new support ticket with us.

I have a hard time setting up "A different domain per language". I want to use two domains per language.
Czech - theoneonly.cz
Slovak- theoneonly.sk

I already have theoneonly.sk pointing to theoneonly.cz.Ping also reveal that both point to the same IP.

This is still not resolved. I'm in clarification with hosting provider about domain setup. Please bear with me I will get back to this ticket after New Year.

Hosting provider checked domain setup again and everything should be in order. Can you please check from your side what can be done to make this work finally? I would like to see Slovak version of the website when accessing the website from .sk domain. I can provide WP access for you if you need to check backend. In attachments you can see current WPML domain setup and the one that I'm unable to save.

Hello there,

Thanks for your return.

Could you please perform this test, after making sure to have a backup? https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/#testing-if-the-domains-are-set-properly

Regardless, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link

Please, let me know if you need any additional details. Have a nice day.

Hi there,

Thank you for the screenshot, it helped to clarify, and also gave me a hint for what could be causing this issue.

Although you have valid SSL certificates for both domains, the URL was being saved as http, instead of https. We have just corrected it from the Settings -> General panel, refreshed the website and then the second language domain could be validated without problems.

It seems to be fine now, please check it: hidden link - I have duplicated the Czech homepage to the Slovak version, in order to see it working.

Kindly review it and let us know if the issue is solved indeed. Thank you.
