[Resolved] Images are not displayed on translated sites
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to display images on translated sites using WPML, but images are not displayed for new content in a specific taxonomy. Solution: We resolved this issue by ensuring that the custom fields associated with the images are set to "Copy" during the translation process. Here’s how you can do it: 1. Enable the option "Show 'Multilingual Content Setup' meta box on the post edit screen" in WPML → Settings → Custom Fields Translation. 2. Edit the portfolio post in the original language. 3. In the custom fields section, adjust the necessary custom field to "Copy". 4. Update the translation by making a slight modification to the original page, saving it, navigating to the WPML translation editor, and completing the translation. For subsequent items, you only need to follow step 4.
Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to display images on translated sites using WPML. The issue occurs only in one taxonomy and affects new content, not old content.
Symptoms:
Images are not displayed on translated sites for new content in one taxonomy.
To assist you more effectively, could you please provide a detailed explanation of the issue you are experiencing?
Additionally, if you could upload any relevant screenshots or links that illustrate the problem, it would be greatly appreciated. I want to ensure that I fully understand the situation so that I can offer the best possible solution.
I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site – preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible – in order to be of better help. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
If I need to debug the problem further, I want to ask you about the possibility of replicating your site locally. I'll need to install a "Duplicator" temporarily or "All In One Migration" plugin on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. If you prefer to do it independently, you can provide the snapshot and send me the zipped package you downloaded.
I was able to resolve the issue. It turned out that the portfolio image is associated with the theme's custom field where it is saved upon upload. However, the custom fields were not copied to the translation. I have now set it to "Copy".
Here’s what I did:
1. Enabled the option "Show 'Multilingual Content Setup' meta box on the post edit screen" in WPML → Settings → Custom Fields Translation.
2. Edited the portfolio post in the original language.
3. In the custom fields section, adjusted the necessary custom field to "Copy".
4. Updated the translation by making a slight modification to the original page, saving it, navigating to the WPML translation editor, and completing the translation.
For the rest items, you only need to follow step 4.
