This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is unable to use the WPML plugin because the site key is not recognized after changing the development site.
Solution:
1. Visit https://wpml.org/account/websites/
2. If the site URL is already registered, delete it from the list.
3. Re-enter the site URL to generate a new site key.
4. Click on "Show key" and copy the new key.
5. Navigate to Plugins > Install > Commercial (tab) on your WordPress dashboard and enter the new key to re-register WPML. If WPML is still registered, de-register it first.
Additionally, ensure that the site URL used matches the registered site URL exactly, including whether it uses 'www' or not. If necessary, generate a new key for the exact URL being used, such as https://www.quillca.com/.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

<b>Symptoms: </b>
The code is not recognized, so I can't use the plugin.

<b>Questions: </b>
Why is the code not recognized?
How can I use the WPML plugin with my account?

Hello,

WPML must be re-registered after every website migration or after changing the domain or domain provider.

1) Go to https://wpml.org/de/account/websites/

2) If the site URL is already registered, delete it from the list.

3) Now enter the site URL again. This creates a new site key.

4) Click on "Show key" and copy it.

5) Enter the key under Plugins > Install > Commercial (tab) to re-register WPML. If WPML is still registered here, de-register it first.

If the problem persists, please let me know.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi there.

This error message usually displays when the site URL and registered site URL are different, e.g., with www or without www.

From what I can see, the full URL that is being used on your site is this:
hidden link (the key is currently created for the non-www version).

So please remove the current key from here (https://wpml.org/account/sites) and generate a new one for this exact URL:
hidden link

Then, try to register WPML again.

I hope that you will find this information helpful.
