This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client was experiencing issues with their bilingual website set up in Slovenian and English. Specifically, when editing and saving the English version of a page, the page would not open until the Slovenian version was saved again.
Solution:
We advised the client to ensure that the WordPress Editor was activated for the page in question or to use the Translation Editor as outlined in our guide on using different translation editors for different pages, which can be found here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/. After further troubleshooting, including deactivating all non-essential plugins and switching to the parent theme, the issue was resolved by adjusting the Language URL Configuration in WPML -> Languages on the staging site.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket with us for further assistance.
