There is another issue on staging.precognox.com. The updates I make to the translation (through the translation management) are not updating on the frontend. It's getting really frustrating. Could you please tell me a couple ways to make sure the updates are showing on the frontend?

Hello,

yes, it seems it comes with the custom element already as an example.

I advise creating a new child theme, a fresh one, and see if the issue still happens.

Please make a backup before proceeding.

Let me know how it goes.

Drazen

What do you mean by creating a new child theme? This is the stock child theme...

I wanted to change the content back to the original state (before you edited it), and the translation didn't update just by clicking on "Edit translation" on the admin bar, only when I went through the translation manager. Why is that?

How can I make use of the translation process without having to go through the translation manager (selecting a page for the list, adding it to a basket, assigning a translator, then opening the jobs, and then start translating)? It generates so much extra work...

Hello,

1) I mean downloading the new stock child theme using that, as you say you may have made some changes, and maybe some other where made.

Please try.

2) You need to make a small change to the default language, save, and then click the arrows icon to re-translate. Making changes creates a new translation job, the same is done when you send it via translation management.

Let me know if any doubts.

Drazen

Unfortunately, the issue is still there, and I have problems with updating the content on the secondary language. I haven't installed the child theme yet, and making a small change in the bricks handled content does trigger the need for translation update, but after completing the update, usually the old content is shown for the secondary language.

The site is live now, so if there is nothing else we can do to make WPML work well, you can go ahead, and close this ticket, but if there is anything else you can tell us about how to do our workflow, please let us know.

Hello,

as we have concluded in the investigation it works fine with the parent theme, and the issue happens only with the child theme, for which I can not confirm what custom changes have been made.

As advised either use the official parent theme or get/create new fresh child theme, if the issue still happens then I can provide a sandbox test site to confirm this is a bug with official child theme.

Drazen

Hi,

I hanven't changed the active theme since you activated the parent theme, so the parent theme is still active.

Please try creating a few complex bricks pages with translations, then modify something on the content with bricks, go to the page list, then click on the double arrow to update the translation, and see, if your change is updated on the translation.

Hello,

I updated the WPML plugins since it was not completed.

Please try now again if the issue still happens. If yes, please share video of the steps you do and the issue happening, so I can see it. You can use free tool like LOOM.

Thanks,
Drazen

Hi Drazen,
Unfortunately, the site is live now, and I can't mess around with it anymore.
Also, I always have this problem on all my WPML sites, and it's usually hard to reproduce, it feels like a random bug, that happens often, but I can't make a video of it, as I don't know what triggers it.
Anyway, thanks for looking into this, but I'm going to close this ticket, and hope, that WPML is going to be able to enhance the usability of their products, because I would still choose WPML over any other multilingual plugin.
